最初の「生命科学」のテキスト 駐日インド大使 M. L. Tripathi

I am glad to learn that "Ningen To Rekishisha Co.Ltd." is bringing out a Book titled "The Encyclopedia of Ayurveda Sushruta Samhita" based on the English translation of "The Sushruta Samhita" by Kunja Lal Bhishagratna.  The Sushruta Samhita is one of the two major texts of Ayurveda, the other being "Charaka Samhita". The Sushruta Samhita deals with Surgery and discusses the principle of medical science and ethics based on Indian Philosophy.  It is considered to be first text of life science that examines physiology at the molecular level.I take this opportunity to offer my warm congratulations to the publishers and wish their venture all success. 私は今回、「人間と歴史社」がKunja Lal Bhishagratnaによる英訳版「The Sushruta Samhita」をもとに新たに『アーユルヴェーダ《ススルタ》大医典』を刊行することを知り大変嬉しく思っております。 「The Sushruta Samhita」はアーユルヴェーダにおける2大テキストのうちの一冊であり、もう一冊が「Charaka Samhita」です。「The Sushruta Samhita」は外科学を中心に取り上げると同時に、医療科学と医療倫理をインド哲学にもとづき論じたテキストです。 「The Sushruta Samhita」は生理学を分子レベルで検討した最初の生命科学のテキストとみなされています。私は「人間と歴史社」に心からのお祝いを申し上げるとともに、今後の発展をお祈り申し上げます。（訳：編集部）
